MAYFLOWER BEACH
As you approached there from the parking lot, you could not believe my eyes, the sand is soft and white. The water gives a beautiful shade of blue-green! You would have thought you were in the Caribbean, not Cape Cod. In late June, the water gets very cold, so you cannot get past your knees. But it sure was pretty to look at. You can walked the beach a ways (even going past Private Beach signs). No one said anything as we walked along the water. Very clean beach.
My only complaint is the rocks that you have to cross over to get into the water you should brought water shoes to make it a little less painful if you think you might have an issue. Otherwise, it is a perfect beach. The concession stand food was good. Plenty of choices. Prices were average for the area.
 GRAY'S BEACH
A google look for the best dusk spots on the Cape Cod carried us to Gray's Beach. There is an incredible footpath that takes you directly into the distance (or so it appears) for a fabulous dusk view. The encompassing bogs are brimming with life and we appreciated watching osprey and other untamed life. The water appeared to be very shallow and at low tide many individuals were leaving to partake in the dusk from the shoals. Arrive right on time for a parking space and a superb nightfall watching spot-nature sweethearts ought to bring their optics!
1856 COUNTRY STORE
This store is located in an old frame house with creaky wooden floors! It is a gift/home store plus a candy/toy store. They have nautical home decor and gifts, Christmas ornaments, candles, jewelry, a baby gift section, books, housewares. Kids love the penny and nickel candies of old! Every kind you can imagine, along with a selection of current and vintage toys. This is a fun place that I visit whenever I go to Cape Cod!
